Built Different.
Developed With Purpose.
BlockOut Academy was built to give female athletes a clear, consistent and complete path for development — on the court, in the weight room and far beyond the game.
More Than
Volleyball.
BlockOut Academy was created around a simple belief: developing a volleyball player means developing the athlete standing inside the jersey.
Athletes can spend years moving from season to season, team to team, camp to camp and lesson to lesson without ever having a true developmental system connecting it all.
BOA was built to change that.
Our approach connects technical volleyball training with strength, movement, coordination, mindset, leadership, confidence and long-term athlete development.
We do not believe in chasing quick fixes or trying to manufacture development in one lesson.
We believe in preparation. Repetition. Standards. Fundamentals. Strength. Accountability. And doing the work consistently enough for confidence to actually be earned.
We Develop the Athlete.
Not Just the Volleyball Player.
Preparation
Is the Separation.
The BOA
Manifesto.
These are more than words on a wall. They represent the standard behind how we train, how we coach and what we ask athletes to bring into the gym.
Develop the Whole Athlete.
Skill matters. But skill does not exist in isolation. We develop the pieces that allow an athlete to use that skill when the game gets fast, physical and difficult.
Skill
Technical development, quality repetition, decision-making and volleyball IQ.
Strength
Strong, capable bodies that can produce force, move efficiently and handle the demands of sport.
Movement
Coordination, body awareness, speed, explosiveness and movement quality are part of athletic skill.
Mindset
Confidence is built through preparation, competence, consistency and learning how to perform under pressure.
Leadership
Communication, accountability, resilience and leadership matter on the court — and long after the jersey comes off.
Long Term
No shortcuts. Appropriate progression, consistent work and enough time to truly develop.
Meet Coach Nev.
Coach Nev's approach to development was shaped by a lifetime in volleyball — first as an athlete and later as a coach, educator and developer of female athletes.
Serbian-born and developed through a demanding volleyball culture, Nev competed with the Serbia Youth National Team before continuing her career as an NCAA Division I setter at UAB.
BlockOut Academy was never created simply to reproduce her own playing career.
Her experience in volleyball, psychology, nutrition and years of working with athletes reinforced one central idea: the athlete has to be developed as a whole.
Technique matters. Strength matters. Mindset matters. Leadership matters. Preparation matters. And none of it works without consistent effort over time.
Development
Needs a Path.
Athletes should not choose training simply because of age or because a program sounds “advanced.”
BOA athletes progress according to experience, skill, physical readiness and training readiness.

Volleyball Is Part of the Story.
We want athletes to leave BlockOut Academy better at volleyball. But that cannot be the only measurement. We want them stronger. More confident. More disciplined. Better prepared to lead. More capable of doing hard things. Eventually the jersey comes off. Who the athlete became while wearing it matters.
