Fall Programs

The Fall season at Block Out Academy runs from August - November and we have something for volleyball players of all ages! Read more about our fall programs below, including Volley Seeds (1st-4th Grades), School of Volleyball (4th-6th Grades) and Fall Training (7th -12th Grades). Our offerings are specifically designed for middle and high school athletes who aren’t yet on their school teams. These programs are ideal for athletes who are just starting their volleyball journey, preparing for club season, or getting ready for middle/high school tryouts next year.

Volley Seeds

This is a great introductory program for our youngest volleyball players! During these sessions our main goal is to introduce healthy athletics to the girls, develop their basic movements and coordination, instill solid team work, and give them confidence throughout the fundamentals of volleyball. The Volley Seeds program builds life-long excitement and love for the game in each player. Plant the seed and watch them grow!

The Fall dates for our Volley Seeds program are TBA. Our monthly pass for the program is $160. If you are out of town some days but wish to drop in when you're in town, let us know!

Youth League

We are so excited to bring back our in-house developmental league for the Fall of 2023! This league will last for 8 weeks. The first 4 weeks will consist of our coaches teaching your young athletes all volleyball fundamentals and introducing them to the Blockout culture. This time will also be used to educate athletes on their volleyball IQ (positions, rotations, game rules, specific skills, etc). For the following 4 weeks, athletes will be able to put their skills to the test with game play against the other teams! This Developmental League should be a great supplement to our clinics for all beginner athletes starting with volleyball and getting ready to tryout for school and club teams. School of Volleyball

School of Volleyball is a 16-week program that includes two 60-minute skill training practices per week. We offer it in two different levels:

  • Tier 1: Open to all athletes in 4-6th grade (A great fit for new players or those with limited experience!)

  • Tier 2: Open to athletes in 5th or 6th grade that have volleyball experience and have completed full Tier 1 program.

School of Volleyball is an excellent fit for all new players, including those who are preparing for school or club team tryouts. The program is designed to teach and enhance all volleyball fundamentals: passing, setting, hitting, serving, ball control, and basic volleyball IQ. We will also do an introduction to different positions on the court along with their specific roles and responsibilities.

Additionally, School of Volleyball has a special focus in every class about holding athletes accountable as they work toward clear, set goals. That helps instill unshakable confidence and learn as they learn strategies to ensure success both on and off the court.

Fall Training

Block Out Academy’s Fall Training is a class designed for current middle school or high school volleyball players (Grades 7-12) who are not on a school team. Fall Training will develop all of your fundamental volleyball skills as well as your overall physical and mental performance.

Fall Training classes will be held twice a week, Mondays and Wednesdays, from 5 PM – 7 PM or 6 PM - 8 PM beginning August 8. Fall Training is an 10-week commitment, from August until our last class on October.

Each Fall Training class will include one hour of skills training and one hour of strength and conditioning training. Middle school players will work on volleyball skills from 5 p.m. – 6 p.m. and strength and conditioning from 6 p.m. – 7 p.m. High school players will start with strength and conditioning work from 5 p.m. – 6 p.m. and switch to skills training for the last hour of class.

You should expect that these high-repetition classes will elevate your athleticism and quickly build confidence in all aspects of your game!

The total cost for Fall Training is $1,200 ($500 for August and $500 for September/October). There is a non-refundable $200 fee to hold your spot that is due at registration (along with your current yearly membership) which cannot be applied to other classes or services at Block Out Academy. This $200 fee will be credited to your account for your Fall Training billing for August, unless you are a no-show (automatically canceling your enrollment). Enrollment is limited to 12 athletes per class. If spots are available, late enrollment will be allowed and the cost will be prorated.

Strength Training

In addition to our other Fall programs, Block Out's Strength and Conditioning training is a great option to work on your overall strength, prevent injuries, reduce stress, and promote faster muscle recovery!

Strength training is available Mondays and Wednesdays from 5-6 PM or 6-7 PM for athletes 13 and older, or on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4-5 PM or 5-6 PM for athletes 12 and under. In-season athletes can still sign up for strength training, too! We have a slot available for them on Saturdays from 10-11 AM.

Cost: $250 per month for members, with a 50% discount offered to those athletes enrolled in one of our other monthly programs!

Serve Clinics

This is a great fit for beginner or middle school athletes to work exclusively on their serving skills: toss, positioning, point of contact, power, and precision. We cover both standing float and jump float techniques. You can expect to work on the toss break down, footwork, point of contact, and accuracy. These clinics are 45 minutes long and loaded with detailed instruction and repetition.

Our middle school serve clinics are offered on Saturdays at 9 AM. This clinic is a drop-in class, therefore, you would need to enroll in every class you wish to attend. Classes are limited to 12 participants in each clinic. We also offer Drop-In Plans which allow multiple visits at discounted prices.

*Per AHSAA rules for outside participation, athletes who are on a middle school team can only do private lessons with a group from their same school team during school season (which runs from their first official season match through their last season match).
